Propositions 416 and 417: The Facts and Realities of New Roads And Freeways

Fact: Propositions 416 and 417 create new roads and freeways that will shorten commute times, keep traffic moving, improve public safety, and provide infrastructure that will attract job providers.

Reality: Without these propositions THERE IS NO Money for the roads and freeways Pinal County needs.

Fact: Passage of Propositions 416 and 417 would create a citizens' advisory board made of residents in cities, towns, and unincorporated areas of Pinal County to make sure the projects in 416 and 417 are completed in a timely and fiscally responsible way.

Reality: No such committee currently exists in Pinal County and won't exist of voters reject Props 416 and 417.

Fact: Pinal County's Sheriff and County Attorney support Props 416 and 417 because these new roads will prevent accidents and enable first responders to reach residents faster.

Reality: There have been more than 325 fatal accidents in Pinal County over the past ten years and more than 880 serious injury crashes. There were several fatal crashes earlier this month. These dangerous conditions will not change if voters reject Props 416 and 417.

Fact: Props 416 and 417 are supported by every member of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, nearly every Mayor in Pinal County, and nearly every Chamber of Commerce.

Reality: The leading voices against Props 416 and 417 are special interests based in Phoenix that have no interest in seeing Pinal County succeed. Other opposing voices include controversial people that have been kicked off City Councils for sexual harassment and otherwise impugned women through nefarious work.

Fact: When you vote YES on Props 416 and 417, you are siding with your friends and neighbors in Pinal County who care about safer roads, shorter commute times, and an economy that allows more of us to live AND work in Pinal County.
